FAQ’S (Frequently Asked Question’s)
1. Can anyone become a voice over artist ?
The straight answer is YES. But i know, only a YES won’t be enough for you, it’s like a guy proposing a girl after gathering lot of courage and immediately he gets YES as an answer, of course ! He will be happy, but at the same time, he’ll spend months or may be years thinking, how come she said yes to me instantly
So let me explain this YES to you in a layman’s language by quoting “anyone who decides to becomes a voice over artist can certainly become one”
Having said that, it is a skill for which you definitely need to have a strong mind set of becoming a voice over artist irrespective of +ve or –ve questions coming to your mind, which is also very natural, but I suggest anyone who decides to do it then should go ahead and wholeheartedly give it a shot. And it’s been said that, if you deliver your performance from your heart, then people will listen to you from their heart. Hence, anyone can become a voice over artist.
There is no such equation which need to be taught for this question, hence wrapping up the answer keeping it short and to the point. Still if you have anything to ask on this question, then do feel free to mention in the comment box ans i shall certainly answer them.
Is there an age limit to begin in this industry?
If you guys remember Harish Bhimani (the voice in Mahabharata) saying the opening line “Mai Samay Hu” before Mahabharata episode starts. He was 21 years old when Mahabharata started and even today, he works as an VO/Dubbing artist. And let me tell you, Mahabharata started in the year 1988.
I’m sure you all must be busy calculating his age by now
But to answer this question, there is no age bar to enter this industry, as there is always a need for all age groups voices irrespective of male or female.
Is passion required to become a voice over artist ?
To answer this question let me ask you a question OR let’s do this, why don’t you ask this question to yourself.
Will Sachin Tendulkar would have become a great player without having a passion for Cricket? OR let’s say, Lata Mangeshkar been called as nightingale of India without having a passion for singing? And the list would go endless and I’m sure you must have got your answer to this.
Can someone begin with a motive to just earn money in this industry ?
Money is an essential part of life and we all need money to survive and get basic essentials in our life. Waoo did I not tell you something which you all must have never heard in your life. Hahaha
Ok, let’s get serious: I would say you can, but I can also guarantee that one who ONLY comes with an intention to make money can get few projects sooner or later but he/she cannot make a mark in this industry for a long run. One cannot go beyond a certain point because this industry has so many things to learn, practice, apply and repeat.
Hence if one doesn’t have a passion for it as discussed in question number 3, he/she will soon lose interest and eventually quit. This is a creative industry (like Bollywood OR Hollywood), though the voice over industry is not much known like Bollywood and Hollywood, but we all know creative industries have lot of money, but then we also know that not everyone reach that point in life. Right ??
How can this industry be so good if not many people knew about it ?
This is my personal favorite question and I love answering this. As you all would agree to the fact that is one of the most underrated industry. Though there is a better recognition for voice over artist outside India in places like US, Australia, Canada etc.
Ok, do you know how many times in a day do we listen to a voice over artist? I guarantee each and every individual on planet earth who can listen, do listen to a voice over artist at least once in a day. Do you want to know how? Let me tell you.
You listen to ads – Voice over artist required
You watch teasers – Voice over artist required
You listen to E books – Voice over artist required
You watch animation – Dubbing Artist Required
You watch Web Series – Dubbing Artist Required
You watch south movies – Dubbing Artist Required
Crowd Dub for Ads/Movies – Dubbing Artist Required
Para Dubbing – Dubbing Artist Required
And the list goes on and on. It’s just that this profession is being ignored since ages, may be because the person who is giving his/her voice is not in front of the camera and we end up giving more importance to the person who is in front of camera and not to the one who is equally performing same behind the camera.
The Voice over/Dubbing industry was not getting recognized much in past, but in today’s time Thanks to social media, slowly and gradually it is coming into limelight and soon there will be a time when everyone will know about it and there will be many training institutes and workshops going around to learn this skill
Now, the main reason which most of you would like to know is the money paid to VO artist. So let me tell you first, that there can’t be a perfect answer to this by anyone as it will differ from artist to artist, work to work, location to location etc.
But, if i had to answer this then I would say a fresher part time Dubbing artist can anywhere earn between 5,000 – 15000 per month and a full time artist can earn somewhere between 20,000 – 100,000 per month or may be more, depend on his/her seniority.

There is no strategy, the simple answer is hard word.
Look guys, every industry is difficult to crack in the beginning, i agree that if you do training with us, we give you the first professional work of your life, but then after that you have to make sure that you talk to the trainer (The one who’s given you coaching), try getting some leads, make friends when you go for audition/voice test, give a personal visit to recording studio’s/Dubbing Director’s etc.

What are the things one should consider before joining?
This is a very important question and anyone who decides to become a VO and Dubbing artist should be little careful and should gather as much as information about the courses and institutes which provide training.
And again i can ask you to be little more extra careful on this as once upon a time, this was my question too and must have been the same question for all the artist who today are already established except for those who are in this industry for almost a decade, because in those times forget about the training, people were absolutely clueless about this work including the names who today have made a mark in this industry. They at times use to get paid even for giving auditions.
Let me answer this now:
Do not get settled for a trainer or an institute just because it is close to your location, as I have seen many students join them to save time in travelling and select a wrong trainer. Selecting a wrong trainer or institute will not only waste your time, energy and money, but it will leave you with a bad impression about the industry and at times people also think of giving up as a career, which is neither good for you and nor good for the industry, as you loose a good industry where you could have made big and the industry looses you where they could have got a brilliant artist.
Hence, it is very very important to choose the initial learning source from where you would learn the ABC of your skill and the industry.
Always talk to your trainer with all the doubts you have regarding VO OR Dubbing industry before joining, check if he/she listen and answer to your queries patiently and satisfyingly answer them all. Because there are many, who will first ask you to join the course and then ask questions, this will be an indication to rule out that trainer from your list immediately.
Check what kind of practical training will be provided during the course, ask the number of student’s they take in each batch, as more the head count, less the chance to interact with the trainers, also check how many times will you get a chance to perform on mike in a studio or if they have some live dubbing session in their course.
Ask how will they help you in getting your first job and also what will help will be given after the course. Just do not go on words for example; we will refer you OR give you all contact details and then its up to your talent on how you get a job
This is red signal, because most of them get busy and then they do not entertain you even to get your first break and the details they give are mostly the data which is given to each and every student after the course from where there are no reverts, no responses ever.
How to choose a Trainer/Training Institute?
This is again the most important thing which every new comer should think before joining. Most commonly made mistakes which new comers do, they join big names and institution thinking, getting trained from big names and institutes will help them get work faster and trust me guys that’s absolutely not the case.
Here no one will see your certificates or ask you names from where you got trained, they will see only one thing how good you know your voice and how good you are at your skill.
Tip to choose your trainer
Thing I would personally suggest you to see before joining an institute or a trainer would be: see how focused is he/she for his/her work, see how passionate he is about his/her work, see if he/she has the ability to bring out the best in you, see if you feel connected when he/she is talking to you.
Is he/she being practical while answering your questions? what does he/she say when you ask for practical training? how much value you as an individual will get during the course?
Look for those small signs from your heart when you clearly feel that yes he/she is the one whom I can rely on and give myself whole heartedly for my voice training.
