And how can you earn 5,000 to 50,000 per month in this industry ? Let’s find out.
How ? This is the question which everyone want’s to know before coming into voicing industry and there is nothing wrong in it. After all you are choosing voice over & dubbing either as a part time OR a full time career for yourself, so you have every right to know the answer for this question
But do tell me honestly if you ever got the answer to this question before coming to this article ? Comment below once you done reading the article. If yes then what was that you got to know before reading this blog.
i had asked this question when i was a new comer in this industry OR lets say even today if i ask someone who knows this industry, i normally get a round and round answers but hardly anyone tells me the exact figure OR even some figure at least, so that it becomes easy for any new comer to understand what he/she is going to get once they put their heart & soul for this work.
So, let’s get straight to the question
How much does the VOICE OVER & DUBBING ARTIST GET PAID ?
Look !! this is actually a little tricky question which i will try my best to answer in the most simplest way possible so that there is no confusion.
And for this you need to understand that this not an engineering degree OR some masters degree that you finish and then there is a set bench mark that within this bracket to that bracket you will earn.
Nahi samjha ?? Alright let me explain you in little detail
Let’s say if someone is doing Engineering, now we won’t get specific as in which engineering Ok ?
So if Mr Deepak (Hypothetical name) is in a process to become an engineer and now he knows that once i become an engineer and get the degree, i am qualified to look for a job and according to whatever field engineer he is in, he can always have an understanding to what a fresh engineer student can expect a salary in the job market according to his/her city in India.
So, what he will do is he will try to know the maximum annual package an engineer gets and what would be the package he will get once he has 2-3 years of experience and what after 3-5 years so on and so forth. Hope you getting my point.
But, now if you talk about voicing industry, one thing you should know that this is not an industry where you get some certificate and based on which you get your package finalized.
So, if you understood this point. Let’s say now you are doing voice overs OR Dubbing as a part time work and you have started getting some work, i repeat you started getting some work in it. For example: You getting some work today and then day after then again after a day OR two and somewhat the same pattern is getting followed for the entire month.
Then, you will earn somewhere around 8000 – 15000 in a month. I again repeat that this number is for those who are little bit established in the voicing industry, because getting a first project is a different topic all together and we are not discussing on how to get your first project and what money should we expect for the first project. Hope i am being very clear ?
And now if you are into voicing as a full time artist, what i mean is you are very actively giving every audition which is coming in your basket, also you are regularly hunting for work, you are going to studio’s and meeting people, in short you have made this as your primary and full time career then…
Guys, you can anytime expect your earnings from 50,000 to even 1,00,000 OR may be more than that and to mention there are artist in this industry who are earning what i wrote Or may be even much more than that. So it won’t be wrong if i say that SKY IS THE LIMIT when it comes to taking voice over & dubbing as a full time career.
But guys, to reach this level it will definitely take time, hence my sincere suggestion to all the aspiring artist is, please do not leave your primary income and start looking for work in this industry. Rather take this job as a part time work, take good training to understand this skill. Practice daily whenever you get time and then start giving auditions.
And i can’t stress enough to tell you how important training is in this field.
In our case we give the first break to our student’s as soon as they finish their training with us, but in case you do not want to get trained OR you have taken training from somewhere else, where you didn’t get an opportunity to do any professional work.
Then, i would also suggest look for small projects first, build up your confidence, then gradually audition for big projects and once you start getting good projects and if your income goes as equal to 70% OR 80% of your salary then it’s time for your skill to get a full time chance and grow.
